The Jersey guard announced that he will be choosing from a list of 6 schools.
“It didn’t come down to five, it came down to six schools and the six schools are Duke, Indiana, Kentucky, Georgia Tech, Seton Hall and UConn,” said Irving, a 6-foot-1 point guard out of Elizabeth (N.J.) St. Patrick ranked No. 9 in the Class of 2010 by Rivals.
As had been reported earlier, two of those schools seem to lead for Irving.
“Duke and Indiana are definites,” he said, “but I don’t have definite dates for them yet. But those are definitely two schools that I’m going to give officials to.”
This weekend, Mike Krzyzewski and the Blue Devils host their first ever elite camp. According to Duke Blue Planet, here are some of the names who will be helping staff the camp:
dukeblueplanet: Coach K and our staff, plus G, JJ, DeMarcus, J-Will and a few others
Speaking of the Tigers, Memphis got some good news Friday from the NCAA. Former Duke guard Elliot Williams was granted permission to immediately play for the Tigers this season.
1. Tim Tebow | QB | Florida Can Tebow be the first player since Archie Griffin to win 2 Heisman Trophies? Add another national championship, and he will be considered the greatest college football player ever.
2. Colt McCoy | QB | Texas Some believe it to be Colt’s turn to win the coveted award. Props to the Longhorn QB if he can beat out the last two Heisman winners.
3. Sam Bradford | QB | Oklahoma More impressive: 2 Heisman Trophies in 3 years or back-to-back Heisman’s? My bet is Bradford would prefer another crack at a national championship over more hardware.
4. Terrelle Pryor | QB | Ohio State
Cal's Jahvid Best
Pryor looks to build upon a stellar freshman season that saw him go 9-1 as a starter and win the Big 10 freshman of the year award.
5. Jahvid Best | RB | Cal The nation’s leading returning rusher is arguably the most exciting player in college football. For once, we’re talking about a Pac 10 player not wearing red and gold.

“We were like, ‘Well, they only have two guards now,’” said Dawkins’ father, also named Andre. “I ran the question by him and asked him, ‘If you could go now, would you want to?’ And he thought about it and said yes. So we put in a call to the Duke coaches and they became excited about the possibility.”
ESPN reporting this 4 separate times in 20 minutes was a bit too much for me. A) I really don’t think this is anyone’s business, and B) outisde the state of Kentucky, no really gives a care that this man lacks character (I think we akready were well aware of that).
Billy the kid’s lost his shine Speaking of Rick Pitino, one of his proteges has recently been in the news. It would seem that some down in the panhandle believe Donovan’s lost some of his magic. Will the Gators ever return to national prominence? Some say no. Gator fans are hopeful.
Maryland’s Gary Williams speaks out After winning a national championship earlier in the decade, Gary Williams’ teams have been anything but dominant in the ACC. You have to wonder how much longer the Terps’ coach is going to have a job. Could Williams be out at season’s end if things dont get better in a hurry? Some think the only thing that’ll save Maryland’s coach is a ACC championship.
John Wall or Derrick Rose?
So what if Derrick Rose already has a NCAA Final Four, #1 NBA pick, and NBA playoff birth. John Wall is already a better player! I’m sticking by it! And this video proves it!
Tebow and the Gators garnered 53 first place votes

ATLien This is going to be a tough year. One loss and your season is over. I don’t see this being one of those years where you can still squeak in to the title game with two or more losses.
bball2223 SC has a fairly tough schedule this year (OSU, Cal, Notre Dame, Oregon, and Oregon State all are potential top 25 teams). Not to mention Stanford, and the Arizona schools should be halfway decent this year. SC isn’t going unbeaten and it’s fairly likely they drop 2-3 games this year. I think they drop 2 of the 5 games between OSU/Cal/ND/Oregon/OSU, and possibly a game no one expects (par for the course since Leinart/Bush left). Lost too much experience on both sides of the ball. Defense should be good but offense will struggle at times.
Coatesvillian Mountain West has three top 25 teams, and the Big East has 0. This has to help the Mountain West’s argument for BCS placement.. especially if they can lure Boise State out of the WAC.
1. Kevin Durant, SF, Oklahoma City Showcase stats: 20 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists, 5-12 fg, 1-4 3pt, 9-9 ft
In order to ensure a spot on next year’s roster, Durant needed to show that he’s more than just a scorer, and he did that. He was a factor defensively and also made plays for his teammates. It took some time for him to get going offensively on Saturday, but he got to the line often and got out in transition for some easy buckets. Barring injury, he’s a lock to be making the trip to Turkey next summer.
The numbers say it all. Nobody was sharper offensively than Gay. We know he’s an athletic freak, but he had his jumper going all week, making him impossible to guard. But because he plays the same position as Durant, he may not find a spot on the roster.
JaVale McGee posted 4 points and 3 rebounds off the bench for Team White in yesterday’s USA Basketball Showcase, his first exhibition for Team USA. While McGee is not guaranteed to make it to the London 2012 games, he represents the first Wizard since Gilbert Arenas to attempt the Olympic cut.
Rose’s White squad was overwhelmed in the second half and lost 100-81. The second-year point guard for the Bulls finished with 6 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists and 4 turnovers in 28 minutes of action, hitting 3-of-7 shots from the field.
Point guard. Best bet: Derrick Rose. Jason Kidd won’t return for the 2012 Olympics, so Deron Williams or Chris Paul will take the starting job. Someone will then have to fill the third point guard spot, and Rose and Russell Westbrook are the best candidates.
UK coming off a loss to VMI, a game in which they gave up 111 points… at home! Just think of how many points UNC will score if UK plays that way in Chapel Hill. Other question is whether or not Hansbrough plays.
UKfan4Life If Pat and Jodie both show up to play and we get some consistent PG play (I.E. more Liggins than Porter), we stand a fairly good chance in this game. We need a consistent scoring threat from the outside (Jodie and Darius Miller) and a strong post presence (Patterson and Stevenson) plus some guys to give our post players a breather (Harrelson…I hope) and grab some boards while they’re on the bench. In terms of pure size and athleticism, we match up very well with UNC. The problem is experience, and that’ll be the big difference in the game. Never underestimate the ability of a team that has as much size and pure athletic ability as ours that comes pumped up into a huge game against the #1 NC favorite.
taikaviitta I believe that UK is going to improve during the season a lot, but at the moment the Tar Heels are too much for them to handle. VMI has played with hyper-offensive mindset for the last few years so I am not that surprised that they scored such a huge amount of points. Still, nonetheless the defense of Kentucky should have been better. So, I believe that the Tar Hells are heading for a statement win and will let everyone know that are all business this year.
